Evenlode Grounds Farm | Luxury Glamping in the heart of the Cotswolds.

Local Attractions In The Cotswolds

The beauty of THE COTSWOLDS. – there really don’t need to be any other words said about the area, but please find below a selection of places to visit and see during your stay. As said, this is only a small selection!

Local honey coloured stone villages adorn the area and there are too many to mention each of them. Five of which are all within a two mile radius of our site, Daylesford, Evenlode, Adlestrop, Oddington and Broadwell. These have glorious village greens and one or two of them have picture perfect village pubs to enjoy.

The nearest towns to Evenlode Wigwams are Stow-on-the Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh and Chipping Norton. Each of these have a huge array of shops, pubs, local markets, restaurants, golf courses (there are three in the area!), public parks, and Stow in particular, ancient history. We will be happy to guide you in the right direction as to where you want to visit on what days, just ask.

The village of Bourton-on-the-Hill is where you gain entry to Batsford House Arboretum, a must see in the autumn months, the colours of the trees are truly amazing.

Bourton-on-the-Water, probably one of the areas most popular tourist destinations, is just down the hill from Stow. There you will find Birdland, The Motor Museum and The Model Village, somewhere where our children used to love to visit.

The town of Burford is worth a visit for a day out to The Burford Wildlife Park, where you can picnic amongst penguins, lions and rhinos!!!! If you want to shop on the way home, the town centre is very picturesque.

In the other direction from Stow is Countryfile presenter Adam Henson’s farm, The Cotswold Farm Park. I am sure most of you will already be familiar with this farm from viewing it each week on the television! However, there is masses to do there and at certain times of the year demonstrations, such as lambing and sheep shearing in the spring.

Blenheim Palace is only 15 minutes from Chipping Norton. The seat of the Duke of Marlborough is open to tourists year round and hosts a number of events throughout the year which I dare say are all listed on their website. Even if there is nothing on, its certainly worth a visit to view the sheer splendour of the place and the lovely town of Woodstock, where it sits.

Broadway is another much loved tourist destination. The High Street, with its many shops, pubs and restaurants is one of the most picture perfect sites in the area. Sitting high above the town is Broadway Tower, the 360 degree view from there is breathtaking, on a clear day, the Malvern Hills are clearly visible.

There are three festivals in this area throughout the summer months and all are only a short distance away. These are Cornbury Music Festival, The Wilderness Festival and Jamie Oliver’s Big Feastival. All three are very family orientated and great fun. Tickets for these are available direct from their websites.

We are always around to give advice on places to visit and things to do so, please, don’t hesitate to ask.
